Affiliated with the Bramkamp group is a core facility “Central Microscopy”. The Central Microscopy is a service facility for light and electron microscopy in the Biocenter Kiel University. The facility is headed by Dr. Urška Repnik (technical head) and Prof. Dr. Marc Bramkamp (scientific head).

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including transmission electron microscopes, several confocal microscopes (Zeiss LSM airyscan), and super-resolution microscope (Zeiss Elyra 7) for single-molecule localization and structured illumination microscopy. 

The facility offers service for sample preparation, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation. Usage of the facility is charged.
